Hey Mom,
It is going this fine December day, we went shopping at Meijer and I took my coat off before we went in. After Meijer I went and made my Christmas card that I will be sending out probably tomorrow. It is pretty sweet.
Last week was pretty good, on Friday we went on exchanges with the zone leaders. I went to Lake Orion and Elder L. from Hyrum came to Clarkston.
Yeah right now we are on the brink of putting several new people on date. My most favorite thing about my mission is to see people change and hunger after the scriptures, and the gospel.
I love you guys, and good job on reading the Book Of Mormon. Keep up the good work and continually feast upon the words of Christ. 2 Nephi 32:3

December 5, 2011 (Week 49, Month 11, Day 335)
Hello Mom,
And yeah it is my 11th month out, and today I finished the Book Of Mormon for the second time while on my mission. It is going by quite fast, and I was getting a little overwhelmed because it is going by so fast. So by the way, have you been reading your scriptures everyday, and pray in the morning and at night?
That is a pretty cool about the story that D C told at the ward Christmas breakfast. When I get back I will have to show you a movie about a guy that found a Book Of Mormon in an alley. You never know what impact you have on others, even just by leaving a Book Of Mormon laying around.
Yesterday we went and watched the Christmas devotional.
I love you and thank you for all that you do for me. And Merry Christmas. I can now use my phrase, some people like to get after me during the rest of the year.

3 Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts.
4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.

November 28, 2011 (Week 48)
Howdy Mother,
Your Elder Sonny boy is doing well. Last week was a pretty good week. On Thanksgiving we went to several of our ward members houses. We could stay at each one for up to two hours. On Thanksgiving morning we went to one of the neighboring high schools, and we had a Turkey Bowl football game between the young men and the adults. We were on the adults side, and we won. Usually the young men win. I was a rusher, and a blocker, Elder O went out for receiving. We had over 50 people out on the field, so it was a little bit crazy. At one of the members house (which live on a golf course) we went out and hit a couple balls. At first it was a little bit scary, I was missing them like crazy at first, and then it came back to me.
On Saturday we had a baptism for D, he is so sweet and is going to be an awesome member. We have been meeting with him for several weeks now, and is doing great.
That is good that you guys had a pretty good week also, sounds like you got some good shopping in. And probably found some good deals on stuff. I was thinking when I was getting ready last Friday at seven if you were out waiting for the stores to open. One of the less active members we met with last week joked with us, after asking if we could do anything for them. "You could go and wait in line for us".
I hope that all is well with you, I am doing good with stuff.
I love you and keep on reading the Book Of Mormon every night and make it a priority. Thank you for all that you do for me. I love you so much.

Hey Mom,
How are you doing? Sounds like you had a good time at Kyle's (Elder G.) welcome home. I am doing well, Elder O. is so AWESOME. He has been out for seven weeks, and so I am follow up training him. Some cool miracles are going to happen this transfer, and the one to come. And yes we are going to have a baptism this week. It is kind of weird teaching people that are your age or are older than you.
For Thanksgiving we are going over to a members house, and maybe another house too. Who knows quite yet.
Yeah we are doing well, and this transfer is going to be a good one. It is going to be fun follow up training Elder O.
I hope that you have a good day, and keep on reading your scriptures everyday.
I love You, Elder Wood

November 14, 2011 (Week 46)
Hey Mom and Family,
I am doing well, this morning is pretty nice with the temperatures at a good temperature. This is going to be a short letter today, we are going to Ann Arbor again. It is always fun going down there checking out the campus and a few stores. My coat is just fine, I need to sew some buttons on, most of them fell off this past spring.
These past two transfers have been really good, we have seen so many new miracles, and blessings. Elder G is the man! I hope that you can make it down to Alpine next Sunday, he still doesn't know what his topic is on. He thinks that there probably going to have him talk about his mission experiences. But there are a lot of experiences to fit into twenty minutes, or however long he has. And to go out with a bang, there were four investigators at church today.
That is cool that you went to L's farewell, I bet he did an awesome job. Were there many people at the church? And was it at that new church on 2300?
So everything is going well, I will find out who my new companion will be tomorrow. I hope that we can assist in helping the C ward grow as we have seen in the past couple of months. That is cool that Elder W & Elder S are going to be staying for another transfer, I hope that they are finding success down there.
I love you mom, and thank you for all that you have and are doing for me. I hope that everything will go well at work this week. Oh and that is AWESOME that you are CONSISTENTLY reading your scriptures. Keep up the good work. Oh last of all I saw some pictures of the Ogden temple (well the remnants of it) on the Deseret News website. It is crazy.

November 7, 2011 (Week 45)
Hello Mom,
I am doing well, the snow has yet to fall in Michigan. Sounds like you are having a harder time with winter coming in Utah, than we are here in Michigan. But soon the snow will fall, we have been having freezing temp. lately. I finally sent the Carey's their letter last week. And yeah we had been working with C H for the last transfer that I was there. I didn't know how long it was going to take before she got baptized. Before I read your email today I read updates from the mission office, and it said that she had been baptized. That is awesome. I bet we have an impact on those around us, but sometimes it seems like the work is stagnating. But you never know the impact you will have on other.
That is so cool that L is going to to the MTC next week, I am going to write him a letter today and send it out on like Friday. He is going to do great. Have you heard much about Elder P? I was thinking this morning that I have not talked to, or written him in like a year. So if you could get me his mission office address that would be cool. Elder S sent me an email a couple of weeks ago talking about that we are already on our year marks.
The lesson we had with D was pretty sweet. We met with him for the third time; at the end of the lesson we were talking about him quiting smoking. He was planning on quiting the week before he was baptized. Then Elder G asked him what would be holding him back from quiting Friday. Then he was all I really don't know. Then he went and grabbed all of his tobacco and gave it to us. That was the second time that someone had given all of their tobacco to us. And then we picked up another investigator, it was like the second or third week I had been here and we tracted into this sweet lady. And then we were finally able to make an appointment with her. So on Thursday we were able to teach her. And she was talking about bringing her parents to church.
So all is swell here. And have you been reading your scriptures everyday? I love you and keep up the good work. I love you and I am so thankful for all that you have done for me, so that I could be here out on my mission this day.

Trick or "Treat"s from the Mission!
October 31, 2011(Week 44(Day 300))
Yo Mom,
Yeah everything is going well, it is Halloween. Did the ward have e a trunker treat? We had such an awesome trunker treat party at the ward on Friday. The lady from the ward that did the decorations went above and beyond decorating. It was just an awesome party to go to. She had strung leave across the gym, and in the middle they made a spider out of a trash bag, and put purple lights in the eyes. And one of the members brought a bowl of salsa, but he had put ghost peppers in it. If you don't know what those are they are the hottest pepper in the world. My companion went back for seconds and took a pretty big helping of it. And he paid for it later. We had a lot of involvement from the ward, both is active and less/inactive members. It was just so cool. And we also got a lot of "let me guess you are missionaries", but one member had a good comment for us "are you Jehovah witnesses?"
And yesterday I was so happy, one of our investigators came to church. We have been meeting with him for about two weeks and the time before we went on Friday we left him with a pamphlet for the Plan of Salvation. And he actually had filled out all of the answers in the back and had read all of it; and he read a bit from the Book Of Mormon. He was only able to stay for sacrament meeting because he had stayed up to late. He even went up after sacrament meeting and talked with one of the speakers. At our lesson on Friday he told us that he is planning on being baptized this year.
Last Monday we had another awesome lesson with another new investigator. His fiancee has been a member of the ward for most of her life. He is just so prepared to learn more about the Gospel. The lesson went so smooth, and we were able to teach it in twenty minutes, and he was answering our questions and was involved.
Yeah Elder G. and L are switching places on November 16. That is so awesome that D is going to New Zealand, we had a visa waiter that came to our mission for a little bit. Does he go in on January 4th? That would be funny.
Thank you for all that you do for me, and keep on doing so well with reading the Book Of Mormon. Has N been doing the same? And it is good to hear that work is picking up.
I love you and have a good week.

October 24, 2011 (Week 43)
Hola Mom,
Wazzzzz up? Yeah everything is going swell in Michigan, I saw frost on one of the buildings this week. I am going into the same weather that I started off in. Crazy huh? But that is AWESOME that you have been reading you Book Of Mormon everyday. I am so proud of you. I was thinking during personal study to day after reading through the Gospel blesses families. I was thinking of how when I come home and even before that, that we need to read the Book Of Mormon every night as a family before we go to bed. I can't think of the scripture that I came across but it is in Deuteronomy. And I also was thinking that when I come home, I want to go with all of my imitate family (that has gone through the temple) to the temple.
Mom you are just AWESOME. When I got your package this week, that day I was wanting some of that cinnamon burst bread. And then I got the package and there it was a loaf of that bread. I finished off the bread single handedly, but I did share that candy and cookies. Elder G. said that he wants some when you come to his welcome home. Next week I will get you the address to his church and what time.
THAT IS CRAZY THAT THE NEIGHBORS ARE MOVING! That is going to be such a change in the hood. And that is not good that Brother S. got hurt. And that is crazy that they are already back from their mission already. But time does fly.
Yesterday we went to conference with a less active member of the ward, in his 2012 Ford Mustang. I think that that was the first time that I sat in a Mustang. It was a nice ride, and he is a funny guy. And can he talk, he is a realtor. We just need to get him out to church more often.
And for your questions: (1) No I have yet to write her, and yes I did promise her. I hope that S can get feeling better, and that they can get to the temple soon.
(2) Yes I got your package, thank you for all of the treats that you sent. And Elder G. says thank you too. He loved the cookies, and so did I.
(3)Yeah you can send me out a copy of the Ensign, it would be greatly appreciated.
I love you and thank you for the package again, and keep on reading the Book Of Mormon every day.

October 17, 2011 (Week 42)
Hey Mom,
I am doing swell, pumpkins are starting to show up on door steps. It is crazy that the fall is here, it is a bit chilly this morning. Yeah the trees have been so cool to watch, now it is on the other side of it, with the leaves falling off of the trees. But we have at least another good week of fall leaves. That is good that the garden is still going strong, clear into October and you are still pulling off tomatoes.
We are excited for this week, we have 13 investigator lessons set up already! And then several other lessons with members, and less active, and recent converts. So this week looking like it is going to be a good one. And this next Sunday stake conference is going on, so we are going up to Grand Blanc for church, it is going to be hard to get investigators to church. Oh and those investigators that we found a couple of weeks ago, we are going back on Wednesday to teach them about the Plan Of Salvation, it is so nice to teach people that are interested in learning about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Today we are going to Ann Arbor, it is always fun to go out there. It is crazy that a month has already passed away. Elder G goes home in less than a month now. And I am doing dandy with everything. Just chugging along. And tell N thank you for the letter, and the pictures, they are just what the doctor called for.
So yeah ask me some questions next week, so that I can tell you what is happening. I just don't know what to talk about today. But good job on reading your scriptures when you can, you can even read them when you are on lunch at work. Oh and if you can before you send the package off, can you put in there a copy of the Book Of Mormon Ensign in there? Thank you for all that you do now, and have done for me in the past. You are such an AWESOME mother. I love you

October 10, 2011(Week 41)
Yello Mom,
I am just peachy, the weather has been so nice lately. And the leaves are so cool, it is weird seeing so many trees. And I heard that you had a frost come through, and that up north they had like four inches of snow fall on them. Utah and that area has had so much precipitation this year. We had a really wet spring here, but the rest of the year has been pretty good. I love this time of year, it is just so cool to see the different colors that are popping up on the trees.
This week we felt that W... has been tracted quite a bit in the past few years, so we went more towards our church building and tracted after meeting with a less active lady. A couple of doors down from this member we found a lady that had just been baptized a week earlier at a near by B.... church. But she had never heard of the church before, and so we set up an appointment a few days later. And so we go back for our meeting with and Elder that had just got back from Italy. And so we knock on the door and her neighbor answers the door. Both ladies were very interested in learning more about the church, and how it came to be. So we set up an appoinment in a couple of weeks. That was so sweet to find some success through tracting.
Yeah I need to get to writing to Elder S....s email, I have not sent him one in quite a while. And he talked a bit about how fast time is flying, and that both of us have about a year to go. Crazy how fast time flys, especially as you get expereince with it. But keep up the good work, and tell everyone that I love them. And you didn't answer my question of did you have any missionary opportunities?

October 3, 2011 (Week 40)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello Mom,
I am doing well this the third of October. Yeah I thought of you too watching conference, there were many good talks given. I don't know if it is because I am a missionary but there have been many talks given on missionary work. Last week my companion and I only saw each other for like two whole days, it is kind of not fun having a companion that is district leader. But this next transfer he is not going to be the district leader and we are going to be together for another transfer. So that is going to be fun to be his last companion. He is kind of getting sad that his mission is coming to a close, so we have been talking of how we need to go out with a bang, and do all that we can.
Here are some questions for you:
1. Where did you see/hear conference this weekend? We watched conference at the church (priesthood) and at several members homes.
2. What was your favorite part? My favorite talk was given by Elder Scott on reading the Book Of Mormon, and why we have it in our lives.
3. Are the members taking care of feeding you, or do you do your own cooking? The members have been taking care of us, the have been feeding us and helping us out with coming to lessons with us.
4. Is there anything that you need right now? No I am doing good with the stuff that I have, my shirts are looking bright and clean. I have learned that laundry is pretty easy to do.
5. Are you getting transferred this week? I am not getting transferred this week.
6.I need to write my transfer letter to her. That was one of the conditions that I left with in Monroe.
So I am doing well and we are going to have a sweet week, we're going to have a couple of new elders in the district, and our zone leaders are also changing (they are in our district). But have a good week, and keep up the good work. Have you had any missionary opportunities? Have you been reading the Book Of Mormon? If not think of how it has been a blessing in your life.

Hello Mom,
I am doing well this the third of October. Yeah I thought of you too watching conference, there were many good talks given. I don't know if it is because I am a missionary but there have been many talks given on missionary work. September 26, 2011 (Week 39)
Hello Mom,
All is well in Clarkston, rain is coming from the sky. But the weather has been nice latley, the fall is such a great time of year, it just feels warm and inviting, and it is the harvest season. Thank you for the stories that you sent me, they are so cool to read and to see all of the blessings that come from serving a mission.
Our trip to Ann Arbor was pretty good, it was raining last Monday too. Michigan State is in Ann Arbor, that campus is so large and cool. It was my first time going down there.
This last week was not that great because my companion got sick on Tuesday and it kept us in the apartment for most of the week, I am so thankful that I did not get sick. I'm pretty sure that I have been sick three times on my mission, when I came out on my mission, and two more times after that. And then we lost two of our investigators, the guy that his friend from California, and then Brother Ziegler. Even though we did not have that great of a week I was able to study quite a bit. And I had been wondering for a few weeks why we go through the temple before we go on our missions. As I started to read through Preach My Gospel I stopped on one of the study boxes, which was talking about our power and authority that we have as missionaries. It refered back to the dedicatory prayer from the Kirtland Ohio temple dedication, it talked about how we are given power, and that we will be supported by Angels as we go about declaring the gospel. It was just a neat expeirencience of finding answers from the scriptures.
Yesterday we had a missionary come home from the Rome Italy Mission. So of course I asked him if he knew Elder K, one of his good missionary friends actually trained him. It is just crazy to see all of the ways that people within the church are related to one another. Elder K wrote me a letter while he was back in the MTC and I never wrote him back. I need to do that pretty soon.
That is pretty cool that L was able to escort his sister on homecoming. Yeah I went on a letter writting blitz, I finally wrote a letter to Mr. D. Thank you again for that.
And WOW that is so crazy how big K is now, he is begining to look like a toddler now. Crazy how fast they grow up. I remember talking to Bishop H several years ago and he said that the time was going to fly by as I prepared to go on my mission. And yesterday at church we went in for the second lesson with the priest quorum and the lessons were on preparing to go on missions. Weird to think that I am on the flip sid of the table now.
But thank you again for the missionary stories and keep up the good work with you missionary efforts.

I love all of you so much, and thank you for all of the support that you give.

September 19, 2011 (Week 38)
Hola Mom,
I am doing swell, the rain is pouring, and we are going to Ann Arbor after we email. Elder Greene has a doctor appointment down there. But yeah September is half way through and it keeps on just a moving. It sounds like you have had a way busy month, making cakes, working, church, etc. This family in the Clarkston ward has been canning, filling #10 cans, and dry packing a lot. It is just crazy how much they have been putting into storage. I learned something this week, but what is the one food that will never spoil? I will put the answer down below dad's portion of the email.
One thing that I need you guys to write about for next weeks letter is: what missionary moments have you had latley? Dad: what is one of your most memorable moments on your mission? Family: what is your favorite missionary stories in the scriptures? And any other experiences you have had in the past. We are going to be talking about these experiences in our next district meeting.
But yeah last week was a pretty good one, but a little bit weird, and it flew by. We had Elder Allan Packer come speak to us. And then on Tuesday we went and helped at the senior center, and helped a recent convert move from one house to another. She had so many books, but she has never read any of them. Wednesday we had our preperation day. Friday we helped out at a funeral for a former member of the Clarkston ward, her husband had been the bishop for a long time, and then three months after he was released he was killed in a car accident. And then she had been battling cancer for a long time, and passed away this past week. She sounded like she was such a nice lady, and there were a lot of inactive people from the ward that showed up to the funeral. And that night we went on exchanges with Romeo elders. So in all there has been a lot of things that have went on last week. We kind of had a struggle with trying to set up appointments, we actually lost several of our appointments with members at church. But things are looking up, we just need to keep on going and finding those that are searching for the gospel. Elder G and Elder (from Romeo) had been tracting on Saturday and they knocked on this door and the guy answered and they said hello and everything. Then he turned around and said to his wife in the background, "Honey the Elders are here". So it struck them what is this a member that we tracted into? But I guess he is from West Virginia, and had met with the missionaries down there. And we are going to meet with them on Tuesday. And before they left the guy looked down at their shoes and saw that their shoes needed polishing and said "I can't let you Elders leave like that". So he pollished their shoes. Man southern people are so sweet, they are just down to earth, just like the yearys back in Monroe.
But we were not able to meet with the ex-Marine guy, he moved to an appartment and he gave us his address from memory but he could not remember it exactly. So we could not find him, and he is not answering his phone. And then Dorthy told us that she will contact us when she wants to meet again, so we will see what happens in the near future.
I hope that you guys have a good week in all that you do, and don't forget to email me those missionary experiences. And have you guys been able to have any missionary experiences? I hope that you are able to get this wedding cake finished, and that work is not hectic this week. I love you, and thank you for all that you have and are doing for me now.

September 12, 2011(Week 37)
Hey Mom,
I am doing good, sorry it took me a couple of days to write back to you, but Elder Packer from the seventy came to our mission on Monday. It was a pretty good mission tour, and we were able to learn a lot from all that spoke to us. We have a couple of new contacts. One of them is from south Africa, and she came here to go to college. Last week we were able to and watch the Restoration video with her, and she came to church. We are not sure when the next time will be that we meet with her but she is so solid. And then a guy from California actually called the Bishop in Clarkston and told him about one of his friends from childhood. And we met with him, he is moving right now, and he is going to still be in our area still. Him and his friend were in the Marines together, and he is just in need of a change right now. He talked about his friend in California in how he has changed a lot, and he wants the same joy in his life. So we are finding some people to teach, it takes some time to find them, but we just need to be led by the Spirit to those that are seeking the Gospel.
That is good that K's cake went well, now you just have another one for this week. You will have to tell me about S's wedding next Monday. I hope that you don't get to stressed over it.
I have been wondering about baby Good latley, you should send me a picture over email next week of both K and Baby G. Last week Brooke sent me a little package with some candy and a card telling me that they were having a baby girl.
But I am doing swell, the work is moving along, and I'm trying to learn all that I can from my mission. What a great starting point for the rest of my life. At the senior center that we help out with the food, we were talking to one of the ladies their about how we only get to talk twice a year. She thought that it wasn't a good thing for us to do that, but it allows us to focus on the work, rather than back home. I hope that you have a good week and that these cakes go smoothly. And don't forget to read ponder and pray every day and night.

September 4, 2011(Week 36)
Hola Mom,
I am doing Hunky Dory, life is going great here. Things are going great with all of the people here, we met with a lady yesterday that some previous elders had talked to. But she has been gone for a few months and, so we brought another member of the ward with us, and we watched the Restoration movie with her. She is planning on coming to church on Sunday. And then we met with another guy, he was found just a couple of months ago also. But we met with him on Thursday and we got to know him and we talked about the restoration a bit. It has been a pretty good week, and we got our twenty lessons in for the week. So that was exciting. My companion goes home soon. He is a good elder. Last week I went on an exchange with some elders. So it was pretty fun and we were able to teach several lessons. So that was pretty cool. So everything is going peachy and swell. One of our members in the ward bought us a peach pie from peach days. We had a slice o0f it this morning, and then I went back for another piece, but my companion told me no, because I'm going to get fat. So I put it back. But also we were able to make some salsa, and we bought a lot of habaneros and we put two of them in the salsa. That will wake you up in a hurry. But I am doing swell and it sounds like you are too. I hope that you have a good time. And have a great week at home. I love you so much. And remember as always to read, ponder, and pray every night.

August 28, 2011 (Week 35)
Hey Mom,
I am doing great!! Yeah the temperatures have been falling, and its feeling more and more like fall. Those 100 degree+ temperatures are a killer. I remember you telling us kids about when you went to Georgia that when you came back to your hotel room the mirror looked like someone had just taken a shower. Luckily it is not that bad, but the humidity is a killer. My first week in Clarkston has been good. We are running low on miles right now (I'm back in a Chevy :) ) so we have been riding our bikes. And on Thursday we went out to a Media referral a couple of miles out; and that morning we had been running and working out. But my companion got sick and so we had to stay inside on Saturday so that he could get feeling better. But he is up and running again.
I will get my card backed up on a Cd, just give me some time. But you haven't told me, how was Elder Bradshaw's welcome home? What did he speak on? And what is he up to now?
That is awesome that Allie is going on a mission! Did she like where she got called? That is just awesome.
Did you guys receive that package that I sent you? Next time I will try and send everyone a present. But all is well here in Michigan. Remember to read, pray, and go to church. And don't let those families make you think that you stink. But have a good week. I love you

Elder Wood, Elder Willard, & friends @ church
Howdy Mom,
I am doing well today, it is going to be busy today with getting things done, and trying to see as many people as we can. But other than that everything is good. Yesterday we went to a members house and had dinner and talked a little bit. He is a metallurgist for a steel company, and this company even makes parts for Caterpillar. Oh and yesterday I got the best present that I could get when leaving. Brother Yeary, and Brother West (another investigator) came to church yesterday. It has taken some time for it to happen but we got both of them to church. And last Wednesday after distric meeting I went on exchanges to Riverview with Elder Huntsman from Layton. He is pretty sweet, we're both what you would call rednecks. Ha Ha Ha It was a good exchange. But I have had a good time in Monroe. I have met alot of awesome people and have been able to learn so much about the Gospel.
I hope that you get feeling better soon. Even with you precations of sleeping in my bed you got dad sick. Have you done anything with my room, or is it just alot cleaner since I have left? Ha Ha Ha So how is work going? Are things settling down now after the move? And have you seen a pick up in business after moving? Is this cake going to be easy to make, or is it elaborate? Oh and this package when I send it home today will not be a big loss if it does get lost. I needed to get rid of some of the clothes that I don't see myself wearing, but I do have some sovieneirs that I'm throwing in. But I will get insurance on it. I hope that I get to go where Elder Willard came from up in Lapeer. It sounds like the kind of place for me. But where ever I get sent that is where I am needed. Speaking of Elder Willard he is going to be training for the first time, he is a little nervous but he is a good teacher. I hope that you get feeling better and everything at home is peechy. Keep on reading and praying every day.

Hello Mom,
Your Sunny Jim is doing well, today is looking like its going to be nice. A couple of nights ago we had a storm front come over us, and you could see the clouds rolling over, it was pretty cool. I'll send some pictures next week. That is good that everything is going well for you. Hope all of your cakes turn out like you want them to.
Last week we were able to get into contact with three of our referrals from the fair. It was pretty cool Brother Carey was working at the booth and he started to talk to them, he couldn't see them. But when we came back to relieve them he was talking about them and how interested they were in learning more about the church. And then when we went and taught them for the first time we brought Brother Carey and the son (19) didn't say very much, but when he did Brother Carey recognized them. So that was pretty cool. We commited them to come to church, but for some reason or another they didn't come. I can't remember if I told you about Celsete but we have been teaching her for several weeks and she came to church. We will probably teach her for a while to help her understand the gospel, but she is doing great. And she has been coming to church for several weeks now.
But I'm doing great and life is just peachy, hey maybe I will go get a peach today. But have a good week and keep on reading your scriptures.

August 8, 2011 (Week 32)
Hello Mom,
I am doing great this fine Monday Morning. Yeah we had a pretty good week last week, we found about twelve new potential investigators, we are pretty excited about that. And Nicole got baptized last Wednesday, and confirmed yesterday. We were not able to find the Yeary's Grandchildren, but we did find Macy's pig at the fair. But we are going to try and find them though. So in all it was a good week for us. And those charges from the post office are I had to pay some postage on a package ( and I got some cash back), and then I went and bought a book of stamps at the vending machine. So you don't have to worry about any packages coming. If I move here in a couple of weeks I will be sending some stuff back home, so I can lighten my load, and send some souvenirs back. And the Careys and the temple, I'll let you talk to her about that. But that is awesome that you are going to be doing alot of wedding cakes, but you sound so busy with being at the office, and all of these responsibilitys you have, but everything will work out.
I love you so much and I hope that you have a good week. Remember to read and pray every day.

July 31, 2011 (Week 31)
Hello Mom,
I am doin a good. Everything is going great here the sun is out and the humidity is not to bad. Today we are going to the fair around one, and we hope to be able to find some new people to teach out of it. And the Yeary's (the older couple) have been talking to their grandchildren about us, and they are going to come and find us, we hope to be able to teach them. Right now is a good time to teach them because of some of the stuff their pastor told them. Nicole Scheil is still planning on being baptized on Wednesday in the morning. That is pretty much the only day that we are going to not be at the fair. Our goal is to find 50 potential investigators out of this fair. So we only need to find ten potentials everyday, especially when there are 250,000 people come to this event. So we are pretty excited about this. We are still trying to get the Careys to the temple to be sealed but that might happen out in Utah.
Last Tuesday I got a package from my boss, he had asked me what I wanted so I told him that I did not know what I wanted, so I just put down snickers and Reeses and so here comes this box full of them. 24 Snickers 18 Reeses that was kind of a funny sight to see so many candy bars.
That is good that everythings is going good for the most part with Brooke, I still need to write her back I am so horrible at writting. And it is alright that you are not home as much because I am not there to tend to. Ha Ha Ha I hope that you can find a dress that you like. Have you been able to move into the office fully yet? And I knew that McCall was going to get married soon, but I couldn't remember how soon it was going to be. Have you herd anything more about Suzanne getting married? So much is changing back home but that is just how life is.
I love you so much and hope that you have a great week at work and at play if you get any. And remember to read and pray every day.

July 25, 2011 (Week 30)
Hey Mom,
I am doing pretty good today, its weird it is week 30 already. The sun is out today and its going to be a nice day. That is good that you were able to spend some time with Brooke and Ryan. I was thinking about Brooke and Ryan not being able to come back out until later because of her pregnacy. But the time will fly by until you see them again. And that is crazy about that dream that you had of you and me walking down the road together. Maybe that will happen some day, maybe I'll be working in the construction industry. IDK
But everything is going well with me today, we are going over to the Careys in a few hours and we're going to get on the roof to see if everything is ok after we had some high winds and hail come over a few days ago. So thats going to be cool. Oh and yesterday we had a missionary farewell from the Monroe ward. He is going to Tawain on his mission and he is leaving for SLC on Saturday with his mom. And just looking back seven months ago waiting to go to the MTC. The fair is coming up this coming Sunday so that is where we are going to be spending the better part of the week. It is going to be so nice to be in the airconditioning, and to go and have some fun at the fair. One of our investigators is going to introduce us to their grandchildren that are going to work at the 4H club. And one of them are going to show us around that area of the fair. But everything is goin as usual, just trying to find new people to teach and trying so hard to get the ward to do their home teaching. I hope that you have a good week at work, and that you keep on reading the scriptures and praying every night. I Love you

Howdy Mother,
I am doing quite fine this beautiful day, the sun is out, the birds are chirpping, and the grass is growing. So in all the everything is going peachy. That is what I herd from the Careys is that the Brigham City Temple has the angel Moroni on it. That is crazy how fast they can build a temple now. How much of the temple is completed? Like does it look almost done from the outside? On LDS.ORG they have some photos of it being built, and it is still being formed up for the concrete. That is fun that you were able to watch grandpa and grandma in the parade. Sounds like you had quite the party afterwards. And that is AWESOME that Levi is going to Mexico on his mission, that is going to be quite the culture change for him. And that is sad to hear that Ryan's mom died, and that is good that they were able to be there. I hope that Ryan is doing good.
But for me it has been a good week, today we are going to get a new 2011 Ford Fusion. Its going to be sweet, we just need to clean our car up. So I'm excited about that. And it was kind of weird to think that Elder Bradshaw is going home and that I am still in Michigan. But that sounds like he is doing good back home. Did he have his welcome home this week? or is it next week? Nicole Sheil is moving along, she came to church yesterday and all is going well with her. And we picked up another investigator yesterday, her mom was baptized several years ago, and yesterday we taught her and the moms boyfriend. It was pretty cool to do that. The county fair is coming up here in a few weeks and so that is where we are going to be spending alot of time. This fair brings in anywhere from 250,000 to 300,000 people, hopefully we can find some people to teach out of that many people. Have you given those pass along cards out yet? I can't remember do those cards have a sticker on the back of them with our number on them? So all is well here. Keep on being awesome and remember to read your scriptures and pray every night.

July 11, 2011 (Week 28)
Hello Mom,
Man you guys stay up late writing these emails, but thank you for all of the letters you send me. And your welcome for the letter, and for those pass along cards you are to find someone to give those to. It is a little bit harder to give those away in Utah being that it is a little bit more populated with Mormons, but there are people out there that you are specifically ment to bring into the Gospel. I hope that you have been having a good week.
That is awesome that you were able to go to Brikell's babyshower. Has Jared and Kristi had their baby yet? That is cool that things are progressing with the temples. And speaking of temples we were able to go with the Careys up to the Detroit Temple to do baptisms for the dead. It was awesome to be able to be with the Careys for their first time in the temple. In August we are going to the temple again with them, but this time they will be sealed as a family. I am so excited for them, and they are too. Nicole Sheil is still planning on being baptized in August. But all is well here and today we are going to Dundee with the Careys, and guess where we are going. .......................................... You Guessed it we are going to Cabela's. But have a great week and always remember to read your scriptures and pray and go to church.

July 5, 2011 (Week 27(6 months!))
Hello Mom,
I am doing this fine 5th of July. It was pretty sweet in Monroe everyone was lighting up fireworks last night. I couldn't see the fireworks but I could certainly hear them last night. In some of the towns around they shoot the fireworks over the water and you can go out on boats and watch them. AND THEY LEGALLIZED FIREWORKS THAT SHOOT UP IN THE AIR? The year that I leave they change the law. Oh well in a couple of years I'll be able to shoot off some fireworks again. That is fun that you were able to go up to Sourdough and spend the weekend up there with the family. I bet it was nice to be able to throw everything into the back of the truck and go up there. Did Ryan go fishing?
This last week I got a cold and so it hasn't been the best of weeks, but I am coming around and getting better. I went and bought some NyQuil and that stuff will nock you out. That is pretty cool to hear from Elder Bradshaw. Yeah that Lora we went and taught her one night on her doorstep, it was pretty cool. And then a couple weeks down the road we had a lesson with some of the neighbor girls and Lora which lasted for about two hours, consisting of the plan of salvation and the gospel. It was one of the coolest lessons that I have been to. And by the sounds of it she is starting to act on some of the things that we asked her to do. Nicole came to church yesterday that is sweet that she is still moving forward with being baptized. And later on today we have a referral that came from Temperance and he sounds to be quite young, and so we are quited excited to teach him today. Right now we have so many older couples that we are teaching, I don't know why but we are just attracted to them. Sometimes it is quite hard to teach them because they like to talk so much. Sometimes it is so funny what they say. And then one more person we were able to find through tracting, we found her a couple of weeks ago, and she asked if we would come back after the holiday. We hope to teach her family too. This is Elder Bradshaws last week, it just seems so crazy that I have been out for six months already, I remember when I first came out and saw him, and then the next day becoming companions with him, and he had six months at that time. And now the time has come. Before I know it is going to be December and it will be half way over.
But have a great day and I hope that this move will go smoothly for you. I love you and remember to read your scriptures.

Dear Mom, and Family,
I am doing really good this week, the weather has been great with it being a little bit cooler. And I got your package today, I owe you guys some money here in 6 months. Thank you for sending that childrens hymn book and cd. I have been out for 18 months all ready?
That is awesome that you have been talking with Ganeva everynight. They are so awesome, and their going to be life long friends. Practically I am going to be living with them when I come home. It is going to be sweet! I stop in the house from time to time and see what is up.
For investigators we have a baptism set for August 3 for Nicole Shiel. And we also have a couple of potential investigators that we are hoping to teach soon. One of them just wants us to wait until after the holiday and then we'll go by and teach her, and her family. One of the things that we are trying to work on is helping the ward council become more missionary minded, and then get the rest of the ward onboard for getting the ward going on missionary work. One of the hard things about this is that everyone lives so far from everyone else that they don't really get to know each other.
That is good that Shauna's funeral was amazing, but I bet it was quite hard for everyone. When is it that Brooke and Ryan are coming out to Utah? That is to bad that they were not able to go to the funeral.
Keep on going with work and keeping the family going. And always remember that I love you and that I pray that everyone is doing good back home. And do you remember who that is one that photo? That is so wierd to find someone that I knew from back home.

Hello Mom, and Family,
I am doing pretty good. Yeah I finally found a temp. way of sending you some photos. That is good that you were able to go to and from California safely. When you guys move the office are you going to rent a moving truck? Has that other lady been helping you with the move? And that is cool that you have been able to send letters to Ganeva every night. When she told me about your Aunt Lilian she sent me a text and told me that she didn't want to be the bearer of bad news but she told me about her death. I hope that you are not missing me to much because the time has flown by, this winter I'll be half way done. But know that I think of you and that I love you so very much.
That is crazy that Shauna passed away, I thought that she was doing pretty good. How is Jeff doing? So much is happening back home. And that is so cool that the Jeppsens remembered you about making wedding cakes.
I have been doing pretty good, this last Thursday we went to a zone conference in Westland where we were able to learn from our leaders. And we have been trying to meet with the members of the ward to try and get ever one excited about doing missionary work. And yesterday President Holmes and his family came and spoke at our sacrament meeting. And there son Blake spoke about coming out on this mission with his family when he was six teen and leaving his friends back home. But since he is a Mission Presidents son he is able to go out on his mission when he is eight teen. But after sacrament meeting one of the members gave us a referral to their parents down in Temperance. This work is so cool and I hope that I take the most out of it that I can. Especially when I come home and be able to go out and help the missionaries out. And this week we are not going to be having a baptism because we have moved it to July. But everything is looking up for that day. We are going to be meeting with Nicole tonight.
But I had better get going and always remember that I love you and hope for the best in all that you do.

June 13, 2011 (Week 24)
Howdy Mom and Family,
I am doing good today, the sun is out and life is peachy. I'm not sweating to bad because of the sweet airconditioning in the car and apartment. That is pretty sweet that you are in California, my last companion lives only like a half hour away from there. That is awesome that you are going to the Newport Temple. I'll have to go and see what that one looks like. And I bet that there is a lot of people at Disneyland, school is getting out all around the country. That is not fun that your class is boring, just think that you were able to go to California on an executive jet, all expense paid trip.
WHAT IS GOING ON WITH ALL OF THE GIRLS GETTING MARRIED? It just blows me away that all of the kids that I went to school with are now growing up and getting married. Do you know when she is getting married, and where? And now one of my sisters are getting married from trek. I just don't know anymore. I still feel like I am a kid, maybe one day I won't feel this way.
That is good that you were able to meet Steven Reed, if you see him again tell him that there are two parts to the mission. You have the city (Detroit) and then you have all of the surrounding areas that are a lot like home. Is he going on his mission in a couple of weeks? Our next transfer is coming up in a month. This transfer seems like it has blown past.
I am doing pretty good, this past week we were able to find a lady through tracting that is going to let us come back on sat. It is always nice when you find someone that is prepared to listen and learn out the gospel. And hopefully we will be having a baptism here this next week for Nicole Shiel.
Have a great rest of your trip, and when you come home that you are able to travel safely. I love you so much, and thank you for all that you do for me. And by the way were you able to send out that childrens hymn cd, and book?

June 6, 2011 (Week 23)
Hello Mom,
I am doing good, the weather is quite nice lately, other than the humidity is what kills. I have been surprised that the weather has been so nice, and that it has not rained for the past couple of weeks. That is pretty cool that I am so close to where Darcey's parents live, Toledo is not to far away it is just down the road. Like last night we went down to a less-active lady's home and she only lives three mile away from the state line, and they always go to Toledo. Speaking of places I want to go to, my companion came from Lapier (at the top of the mission) he has been talking about how it is the middle of no-where. He was fed a lot of deer, moose, bear, and some other things. And there is a guy who is the Elders quorum president that invents guns for the military and stuff. He has got me excited for going up that way. And that is pretty cool that I was on the spot light, it was just a couple of weeks ago that Elder Bradshaw was on there. And that is so weird that he is going home in five weeks or so. Time flys when your having fun. Did Matt Silvester have quite the accent when he spoke? That is good that we are able to have fund raisers now, that will help out a lot with the activities.
I here that Grandpa and Grandma are going to be in the parade this year. That is so cool that I am going to have both of my grandparents in the parade one after the other. Did you put their names in? And Grandpa and Grandma also told me that they met two of the senior missionaries that just went home a few weeks ago.
That is pretty cool that you are going on an executive jet to the Bahamas!!! Jk But that is awesome that you get to go to San Diego and be trained. When is it that your office is moving? And where again?
I am doing pretty good, my companion and I have been trying to find new investigators. Last week went pretty good with our efforts in tracting, but we are going to try and get member missionary work going. It is going to be so sweet when I go home and be able to share the gospel with everyone. And home teaching is going to be such a cinch. So yeah. There is one thing that you could do for me is I promised Lilly that I would get her a children's hymn book and the cds so that she could sing to them. So could you send me those two things?
I love you so much and hope things keep on going good, and that you can get the oven working again. Have you ever had Sears come out and try and fix it? And again are you going to be making Brittley Reads wedding cake? And have a fantastic week!

Hello Mom and Family,
That is all right that you didn't get that letter to me, but that is good that Brooke is doing good, just not with the sid-effects. I hope that everything will go to plan, and that the baby will be a healthy one. And the weather here for Monroe was a nice 93 deg. with a HIGH hummidity. But I sent my emails from a library just a few miles away from our apartment. And we can't send emails from members houses, that is what is says in our little white handbook. I got my new companion today, he is Elder Willard from North Carolina. It was a little hard letting Elder Pedersen go, but it was ment to be. And Elder Pedersen has been out for 10 1/2 months, so he has a fair amount of time still. He and a new elder who got here yesterday are whitewashing an area. So fun times for him, he was wiereded out about not knowing anything about the area or anything.
The girl (Nicole) that I was talking about last week is doing great, this past week and for a couple more she is going to be on a trip so we aren't going to be able to meet with her. But we are planning her baptism for June 22, she is so solid. And we are going to try and find some new people to teach, hopefully we can come across some people who want to learn more about the Gospel. And I am also still trying to come out of my shell and talk alot more in lessons, I have been having such a hard time with that. But I know that it will come with time.
That is crazy that there is still 13 ft. of snow Monte Cristo, I bet there is going to be alot of flooding this year. And I don't know if I believe that there is 87 ft. of snow over the Mirror Lake Highway. That is just alot of snow. Just hopefully you won't have to here about the drought that Utah is supposedly in. Ha Ha Ha Is our lawn still growing like it is in a rain forest?
I am doing good and just going about the work of the Lord, I just hope that I can keep my eye on how short a time it is. After this transfer I will have been out for 1/4 of my mission. I love you so much and I hope that you are doing good back home. And when is it that you are moving the office? And it is this week that Suzzane is graduating. That is so wiered to think one year ago I couldn't wait for school to be out, and now look at where I am at, I'm in Michigan. I love you and hope that you have a great week.

May 23, 2011 (Day 140)
Hello Mother,
I am doing good I have finally got over my cold. This week has been a good one, I was able to go on exchanges for three days of it, because my companion went to a leadership training meeting. So most of the time I was in Riverviews area. And at night I went back to my area with one of the zone leaders, so we didn't get to work as much as we wanted to in our area. But Nicole Shield came to church, and that was pretty cool, and we are planning to have her baptism on June 22. The sad thing about it is that Elder Pedersen is probably going to be going next Tuesday. But I did get my bike back this last week, they put a new crank arm on it and it is back up and running, but I should have had them put a new pedal on it because this one lost its berring on it or something. But all is well with it. I hope that you will be able to ride your bike soon, I don't know how warm it is back in Utah. I love riding my bike around, just not in the snow. And I am still considered skinny by everyone, though I put on 20 lbs. And where is Elder Twedt from? I know who he is, I was just wondering if you knew them? Seems that you do know everyone. Ha Ha Ha Elder Twedt was also trained by Elder Bradshaw, which is coming home after this next transfer. Time does fly by when having fun. And I will have been out for 1/4 of my mission.
That is so cool that you were able to talk to Tanner about graduation, I need to write him back. I have been so horrible about that these past few weeks. But that is awesome that he is planning on going on a mission. The thing that I would tell him is that a mission is not an easy thing leaving your life back home and taking on a new one. But it is going to be worth it. And grandpa told me that they went to Suzzan's seminary graduation, man I am feeling a little bit like an old man. Ha Ha Ha
And I was wondering if you are doing the cake for Brittley Read's wedding?
I hope that you guys have a great week, and that you can get all that you want to get done, done. And by the way when is it that you are moving the chiro. office? I love you so much and hope that you have a great week.

I am doing great, it is another gray day but it is going to be a good one. I still have a cold and snozz coming out of my nose, but it will just take some time before it is gone. We have several prospective people we have met. One of them is Nicole Shield, she has been living with the McKloskeys for a while now and is planning to marry one of their sons, and the mom has been talking with her about the church, and when we asked her if she wanted to be baptized she said yes. We have met with them a couple of times and we put her on date for baptism. And there are a couple others that we are working with.
I took my bike into a shop the other day to get the crank worked on because where the pedal screws in stripped out. And hopefully we can get it back pretty soon, because we want to start riding around downtown Monroe. So if you see a charge for fifty bucks or so that is why.
Elder Bradshaw is in Schaefer still, he is in a tri companionship because there is an Elder that is waiting to get out of the country. And Elder Bradshaw is probably going to stay in Schaefer until he goes home, he will have been there for either six or seven and a half months in there. And we have transfers coming up in two weeks, so we will see then. And I will probably be going to the meeting because we are thinking that Elder Pedersen is going. So we will see what happens. And that is awesome that Matt Silvester is home now, I remember when he left because it was the second summer that I was working at the city.
That is so cool that Kaleb is now two, it seems like it was just a little while ago when he was being born. Time flys. Speaking of time flying after next transfer I will have been out 1/4 of my mission. And that is cool that you guys were able to go for a walk down the track. How is the weather out there?
And with this dog, he is a fox terrier with a beagle mix, but he does like to bark, but he has barked so much that he sounds like an old man. It is pretty funny. I don't totally know how well it would do outside. And with the exercise part of things I will probably have to take it out for walks. And the Careys are hoping to come out to Utah to try and find work opportunitys, hopefully are Autoliv. They are not sure when they are coming out to Utah, but sometime soon, like in a month or two. He has a brother that lives in Brigham City, and they are probably going to stay there for a while. But this dog is a good family dog, he just an awesome dog. And for plans for the dog I don't know, but that I would take care of it.
I am doing good and this week I am going to be on exchanges for pretty much the whole week because my companion is going to leadership traning, and when they come back from that meeting I am going to be with one of the zone leaders until thursday. So this week is going to fly by for me.
I hope all is well back home. And where is Natalies portion? But have a great week and keep on doing awesome!!! I love you so much and I am so greatfull for all that you have done for me to bring me to this point in my life.

Hello Mom, and Family,
I am doing a little bit better this morning. One question first Is it all right if the Careys drop off the dog when they come out to Utah to try and see what is out there? And the phone call they have pretty much unlimited minutes and it was on the weekend, so not to worry. But that was awesome to be able to have all of the family together and talk. My dinner was pretty dang good we had ribeys, sweet potato with butter cinnamon, sugar, caramel syrup, and marshmellows. It was an awesome meal. Thank You for all that you do for me. I love you so much. Have a great week at work and with hanging out with your grandsons.

Hello Mom, and Family,
I am doing great this grey day, the river that runs next to the library is running quite high right now. It is so wierd to see these big rivers, I guess I am still use to seeing the weber crick. Ha Ha Ha The weather has been alright lately it has been raining some and sometimes the sun will break through the clouds. It is so nice to see the sun pop through the clouds. And with tornados we had like a 7 out of 10 chance of a tornado but nothing ever came of it. And I heard that it was quite bad down south, I was wondering if anything got close to Elder Puffer. We were in the same warning zone that Brooke and Ryan were in. But all is well up here. Yeah I hope that Elder Puffer is able to get down to Brazil sometime soon, it would be frustrating to be waiting to get down there, but I have not heard anything from him yet, probably the best bet would be to have Natalie ask the Puffers when she goes over there. And I sent Haden a email 2 weeks ago and he sent one back, and he said that he is going to write me a letter soon. But he is doing great he was able to go down to the Monster Truck Jam down in Vegas, the pictures he sent looked like he had some fun down there with his dad.
Drugs do destroy family's and relationships, that is horrible that she got caught up in them. How was Aunt Beth doing at the funeral? Did she have a husband that can take care of the kids? I hope that everyone is able to get through this hard time. But it is a real blessing to know that they will be able to see her again.
But I am going to keep this short today so we can talk a lot next Sunday. But I am doing great we found this lady that is in her upper fifties while tracting. We went over to her house the other day and talked with her about what kind of religious background she had and taught her about where the Book Of Mormon came from and why we have it. She is going to come to church here in two weeks and she is going to bring her two grand kids.
I love all of you so much and I hope life at home is going great.
Love Elder Wood
P.S. I will call home around Three your time. I hope that dad does not have to go to work around that time. And we probably can do three way calling with Brooke and Ryan. We have a family that has laptops with web cams but they don't have the Internet. So we probably won't be able to do that. I wish we could have.

Hello Mom, and family,
I am doing really good this week. Yesterday my compainon (from Yucipa California) went to two dinners and had dessert at the third, we had ice-cream. So we were stuffed quite full. At the first house we had hot dogs, at the second we had ham baked beans, I had a pepsi and alot of other stuff. And at the third we had some cookie icecream and so it was a pretty good day. The weather here has been pretty gloomy and grey, but you will have one day that you will have some sun pop out of the clouds. This week we have been trying to find some people, and one day we found like three potentials and one new investigator, and so it was a pretty fullfiling day. Oh and I got all of the stuff you had sent. My companion really like the smoothie jelly bellys. And he says thank you
That is good that you had a pretty good day yesterday. How was the weather on saturday? That sounds like Kaleb and Karsten had a good time with the easter eggs and what not. That first house that we had dinner at they have a little girl (about four years old) and they had a easter egg hunt in their house for her and it was fun to be there.
I don't know quite yet what the rules are with calling home, but we are going to a meeting this week and that is probably where we will find that information out. That would be really cool if we were able to talk over skype, but I don't know. Yeah you had better be prepared with what that letter had to say that you had sent me. JK
But I love all of you so much and I hope all is well back home.

Hello Mom, and Family,
I am doing good, it has been snowing this morning but it is all good because I am in a car. And yeah it was raining and then it turned into snow. But right now it is pretty good weather. Last sunday (week ago) is was 85 deg. and the hummidity was way up there. And just a little bit ago we went to Buffalo Wild Wings and I got a steak burger with onion rings on it, it was pretty good. And with the investigators we are doing fine. And I am going to be staying in Monroe for another transfer, so I am pretty happy right now. The funny thing about it is that my companion is going to be the next District leader, so I have been making fun of him. Oh and as far as I know Elder Bradshaw only baptized like two kids (brother & sister). But I did teach the two of them.
You don't have to keep on worrying about my call letter, it is in a safe place and everything is hunky dorry.
MMMM... Did I guess who the stake president was going to be or what. I even told Elder Puffer that his dad was going to be the next stake president in the MTC. I am going to write him a letter here in a minute, and give him a hard time. That is pretty funny.
Thank you so much for the 100 day package it was fun to see Karsten and Kaleb, and to have all of those treats. My companion loved those smoothie Jelly Bellys and says thank you. Is Karsten a red head, in one of the photos it kind of looks like that. But they are both growing up so fast. When I get home Karsten is going to be talking up a storm probably.
But life is going good here in Monroe, and this week we hope to be able to go and find some new people to teach. And I am really excited this week because we are going to the temple on Thursday!!! I here it is pretty small but it is going to be awesome!!! Have they started on the temple already? What is happening with that whole developement? And when is it suppost to be done?
And did you see that Dave (Willouby?) was in that photo at Campus Book Rentals? The funny thing about that is that I was thinking about him just the other day before I recieved that.
I love all of you and hope life is going good back home.

Hello Mom, and Family,
I am doing great this fine slightly rainy day. That is so AWESOME that it is snowing in Utah and not Michigan. I saw when watching conference that it was snowing in Utah. I hope that it will dry up soon. It has been so nice to have no snow for this long, yesterday it was like 90 deg. with humidity, so it was pretty warm. It was so warm yesterday we turned the air conditioner on before we left for a few hours, and when we got back it was a bit chilly. Humidity is going to be a killer. But it is pretty nice here in Monroe, especially with the air conditioner in the car. I don't really know which talk I liked the most, because there were so many to choose from. But when I look through the Ensign I see who I like the best. And I even took notes for the whole conference, but I don't know which one I like the most.
My companion is starting to feel better now, our remedy for his recovery is the pre-made cookie dough from Wal-mart. I have had so many cookies from Wal-mart that it is not even funny, but it is awesome. We had to start running because we are getting fat, I told you that I would get fat on my mission. Yeah even though I had a rough time with bowling it was pretty fun.
Cabela's was pretty cool, but it was kind of painful to go there and not be able to buy anything. But it seemed to be pretty big in there, compared to the one in Lehi. This one had the mountain, and a stream that went for like 100 feet. I think that we are going to go back some time soon. Oh and thank you for waving for me. How was it down at your Aunt Lucy's? How many pages did you make? Did Judy come down and help? I hope that you had a fun time!!!
I hope that Grandpa is able to get feeling better soon. And I hope that Grandmas voice is able to get louder again. How did physical therapy go for Grandpa the other day? Thank you for getting me Grandmas letter here in a few days.
I'm sorry that I made you cry over my call letter, I should have told you it was in that BANKING folder. It was kind of an obscure place to put it, but it was handy at the time. And that is really good that you prayed for it, and thanked Heavenly Father for finding it. But I heard from Natalie that she had found it a little while ago. But I don't know, I'm not there. But thank you for finding it.
So how is everyone doing? How is Suzzane doing? And how is Paula doing, the last I heard was when she slipped on the ice her teeth had cut through her lips. And how is Maddison doing? Is she still kicking it? If not you can tell me when I get home.
Well I am doing great, and it has been a good week. I hope all is well back home, and that everyone is not getting sick. For some reason I have only been sick when I first came out on my mission, I even got better back when it was snowing and I was riding a bike. But have a great week and keep on praying for our contacts, and for me. I love you so much and am thankful for my upbringing.

Hello Mom, and Family,
I am doing great here in Monroe. It is just raining, but it is quite warm. I saw conference and it was snowing in Utah. How much snow did you guys get the other day? Conference was pretty good, it is so good to be out on my mission and be able to go and see it. I learned so much and I hope that I am able to remember the things that I saw. Who was your favorite speaker? My favorite speaker was the one that talked about how ALL of the young men should serve a mission. And those root beer floats were pretty dang good. It was nice to have a little treat before conference. It really wasn't all that much later that I got into bed, I was in bed like at 10:45 p.m. that night. I have been to bed at like midnight once on my mission. The other morning my companion and I went out running, I was in shorts and two shirts and he was all bundled up in a jacket and other winter clothing, and he still got sick. But hopefully he can get better soon because it is not fun at all when you are sick on your mission. Oh and today we went with some other elders from Riverview and we went bowling. It was pretty fun, but as usual it got the lowest scores. But it was fun to go and do that.
Man I thought you could guess where I was with that photo. I was at my favorite store: CABELA'S. And those are bears in the background; they are fighting and there is a moose head below them, but you can't see them. I never would have thought that I would be going to CABELA'S on my mission. I was so sweet to go there. But it was kind of painful not to be able to get anything from there.
I hope that Grandpa is able to get feeling better soon, it is not fun to be able to sit around or do anything really. How is Grandma doing? And what is Grandma Wood's address? I want to write her some letters. How is she doing?
And that older couple are doing great. They are reading the Book Of Mormon and he has read about 24 pages so far. We hope that he is able to read the Book Of Mormon and gain a testimony of it soon.
We also are working with a guy named Fransis, and he has gained a testimony that the church is true, but his only hang up right now is smoking. We had him come down to one cigarette per hour, and then one night we got him to stop completely and he stayed that way for a couple of days. But then he went to his' mothers house and he started up again. So we hope that we can get him to stop soon, by coming down off of it slowly.
I love you guys so much, and am so greatful for all that you have done for me. I hope that you have a great week at work and at play. And how is work going? Do you like the new schedule? And how are the Brownings doing?

Hello Sister Wood, and Family (I.e. Natalie),
I am doing great this fine beautiful spring day. I am doing great here in Monroe, this morning we did a spring cleaning of the apartment. It is so much cleaner, but compared to my other apartment in Shaefer it is alot cleaner. That is great that you and Natalie is were able to go to the General Young Women's Broadcast. Was it good? Who spoke at it? We had a less active family go to that, all of the girls at least.
I am going to be watch G. Conference at some of the members houses, and we are going to watch it at the church some of the time. And before priesthood session we are going to have root beer floats, it is going to be awesome. And that night the priesthood session does not end until ten o'clock. it is going to be weird getting in that late. But it is going to be awesome receiving knowledge from the brethren.
That is good that you are going to be going down to your Aunt Lucy's. Who all is going down there other than you? And Natalie would go to Judy's. HA HA HA Do you know what Natalie is going to try and do, she is going to want to stay the night. JK
But the older couple that I talked about this past week, we finally got a large print BOM to them. And now he is going to be able to read it. We have most of the same views on things, but he is pro union and I am not. But he doesn't know that. It is so funny talking to old people because they like to talk so much, it just cracks me up so much. But we are hoping that the two of them will come to church soon, when the weather gets to be a little bit warmer. And the great thing about it is they love President Hinckley!
We have another investigator that has been wanting to come to church for the past few months, but his parents would not let him. His parents are strong Catholics and they will now consider other religions views. So yesterday he built the courage up to go to Church. And now his parents took his car away, and he is wanting to move out of his parents house. We hope that we can find him a place to stay, and a job. Coming out on a mission really shows you how blessed you really are. So thank you so much bringing me up to be the person that I am now.
But I need to get going and have a great day. Have a fun time at your Aunt Lucy's and be safe going down there.

Hello Sister Wood, and Family Wood,
I am doing great here in Monroe. I am loving this weather we have had this past week. A few nights ago it was so warm that we slept with the windo open. It was so awesome to be able to do that. And to think that Easter is just around the corner, that is just crazy, and it is crazy to think that so much of my mission is over. And to have General Conference just around the corner too. Man what is up with this?
My companion told me the city again but I can't remember it, but I will write it down and send it to you next week. But he is so cool, we are having an awesome time serving with one another. This past week we had zone conference and we were taught about focusing in on when people have the Spirit has testified in their lives. So the next day we were able to go and use that on a couple of doors. And it works; the stuff we learn is so good, and I will be able to use this information that I am learning throughout my life. And also coming out of my shell was and is one of my goals while out on my mission. But that is not why I should be out here, it should be to bring people closer so God and have a greater faith in Him.
Right now we are teaching a couple that is a little bit older. We found them one day while out tracting and as we started to talk to them at the door, he asked us if we would like to come in and have a soda pop. That was so awesome! And then we taught them a restoration lesson, and they took it very well. And to boot they have been watching President Hinckley's videos for who knows how long, and they just love that man. We gave them a Book of Mormon, but he was not able to read it because the print is so small, so we ordered a Large print Book and it will be here in like a week. So in the mean time we will just teach them. And they look like they are promising. Also they have a farm just down the street from our church. 3800 West Dunbar RD, Monroe. And hopefully we will be able to go and check it out one of these days. And also today I get to put on normal close for the first time in a month and a half and go and do some plumbing and put up some trim with a nail gun. GIDDY UP
That is good that Grandma was able to get home safely. And that was and is good that you were able to go have dinner with Grandpa. I bet he loved that. And also that is good that Ryan and Brooke got home safely. I was wondering if they were going to get home like at the same time.
And that is cool that another Clintonian is coming to Detroit. We are going to have like four or five Clintonians out here at the same time. That is going to be awesome.
But I need to get going. But know that I love you and that I am having a great time out here in Monroe. It is so awesome. Love Elder Wood

Hello Mom and Family,
I am doing quite well out here in the country. GET-UR-DUNE GIDDY UP I love it out here in the country it reminds me of home and it kind of feels like I back home. I didn't know that I was only like four and a half hours away from my big sister. That is so totally awesome. My companion is from Southern California and I cannot remember how you say the town, but funny thing is last night at a members house, this member lived right next to this Elder's town. And that is like me getting paired up with Elder Bradshaw.
My area is so big it is just massive, it has so many farms. But we have like two main towns that we work out of. It is nice to be out in the country. It has been a little bit cooler but it has stopped snowing; thank goodness. In Downtown Monroe it is like going to the older part of Park City, but it doesn't have the money like Park City has. Next week I am going to send you some photos. I want to get some more photos of my new area before I send the picture cd off. This past week I went to this senior citizen day care place for some service and I was able to paint with acrylics. I also bought a painting from there with a picture of some phesants and deer, in like a desert area. And some how I am going to send it home.
I sent a letter to Haden like the second or third week I was out here and I never recieved a letter back so I just didn't know what to do. But I will send him a letter, should I send a letter or an email. And how is Haden doing? I hope that he is doing quite well. I love you and you guys so much, and know that I pray for you everynight and morning.

Hello Mom, Dad, Natalie, and Brooke,
I am doing quite well this sunny bright day!!! I hope that the snow is about finished! But it is looking like a good outlook on the weather. To my dismay this last Sat. I found out that I will be moving out of Schaefer. It shocked both of us. But it is all in God's hands, and is ment to be. It would have been cool to have been together for longer. So tomorrow (Tuesday) I will find out where I am going. And probably send you another email, but this one will be short.
Thank you so much for that package, I didn't even know it was St. Patricks Day. It was good this morning we had some pancakes they were quite good. And all of the treats that were in there made our day, and a few more after that. But I don't know what my favorite thing in the package was it was just awesome to get that big box. Thank you so much for it!!!
I bet that is pretty funny looking with a twin mattress on a queen frame. But that is awesome that she finally got her wish. And I miss her too. And where is the letter back from her, I have been waiting for one.
I hope that Melissa is able to get through this time, it will get better and better and before you know it they are off on their missions. It is a great time in ones life to go and learn and share the gospel with people who don't even know that there is an afterlife.
I didn't even know that Brooke and Ryan were going off on trips. I thought that Ryan was going to Honduras this summer. But that is nice that you are able to spend time with Brooke.
I hope that all is well at home and that everyone is doing good. I myself am doing good and tomorrow I might get put into a car. But either way it is going to be good to be out here to sever the people of Detroit.
So in a few days I am going to try and send some pictures (or a cd). And know that I love all of you.

Hello Sister Wood,
I am doing quite well here in the D. I am all right and have not been hurt so far (Knock on wood) And I take those Vitamins a couple times a week. And I still have a bottle and a half.
And yeah I am sure glad that i was able to send you an email last week. It is always good hear from home. And how is the Computer working out? Is it nice to be able to use around the house? When I get home I'm going to get a bigger and better one for school, but that is a ways away.
And that is awesome that Natalie was able to get a bed. Now i can have my bed back, or at least I think i will. How did she like getting the letter from me? Tell her that I love her and think about her.
And some cinnamon rolls would be nice, but soul food is some pretty dang good food too. And how is Melissa and Karsten doing? She must be doing good if she can put a bed together. And that is pretty funny about Kaleb saying Tyler, is he starting to be able to talk more and more to everyone? And hopefully he remembers me when I come home. I am doing great this week and now I'm going to type to dad. But always know that I love you so much and that I pray for you every night.

Dear Uncle Bob,
That is awesome that you were able to sit down with your companion and Jayne and have a meal with them. How long has it been since you have met with Both of them in the same room? I hope that I will be able to do that some day. So how long is Jayne's daughter been out on her mission?
Hopefully you are able to get mom's car out of the shop, because the truck does like to suck the juice. But it is a nice ride to get around in. Maybe I will be able to get around in the truck in my mission some day, that would be so awesome. I hope that you are doing great in your work and that you are able to be kept safe. How much longer is it that you can start to look around for driving fuel around? But I need to get going and know that I think of you and how you have been an example to me to go out on a mission. One thing I want you to study and is really awesome it D&C Section 93 it is one of the best sections ever. But I love you so much and hope that all is well back home.

Hello Mom and Dad,
It has been going good here in Detroit, two days ago it snow again leaving around 14 in of snow. just when you think that you have gotten through the snow it comes right back with a vengence. And sorry for not being able to email you yesterday but the library was closed. Sorry about that.
Elder Bradshaw is doing quite well with his cut lip, it is back to normal now.
That is good that Turner was able to get away from his mother, and that is really sad that he had to do that. But you have to do what you have to do.
But with Baptisms we are going to have one probably this weekend. He is 15 years old and is doing great at keeping the commitments.
Oh yeah I did get the package from Grandma and Brooke and from you. Those packages made my day last monday. And I am really greatfull for the pictures that Brooke sent me, I only had one little one of the family before she sent me those.
And I herd that Jerry Sloan had retired from the Jazz, the other day I said that he should do that. I guess that I am a fortune teller or something.

Dear Uncle Wood,
How is the life in Utah? That is good that you were able to bring out the snowblower, I like to blow snow from time to time. And that is pretty funny about not wanting to dig out your car from the snow. And talking about Chevy trucks I was able to ride around in the Missions Chevy Silverado. It is the same truck as yours but just a few years newer. But with riding through the snow it just sucks, because you can't really ride through it you just keep on slipping, but it is all in the experience. And that is good that you were able to talk with Therald, I am glad that you are able to stay close to home, rather than go all around the country. But I need to get going. And always know that I love you.

February 14, 2011 Happy Valentines Day
Hello Family, And Happy Valentines Day!!!! I love you Guys so much,
The other day I did get the package that you had sent me. Thank you so much for it!!! (The macadamia nut cookies were awesome) But the package was sitting at my door step when I got home the other night. It was a nice treat to have, and now it is pretty much gone, all but one chocolate chip cookie. I really don't know how the best way to send me packages, either send them to the mission office (It'll probably take a week or two to get the package) or just send it to my door step if it is a low cost item; just because it could get stolen.
I have been writing Grandpa and Grandma every week, I am sure that he is very excited when he recieves these emails. I am very happy to recieve emails from him!!! Who would of thought that I would be writing emails to my grandparents (I thought I would be writing regular letters to them). Also I have been writing Faye letters, pretty much every week.
So you pretty much still have the youngwomen calling of teaching how to decorate pastrys (Ha Ha Ha).
But that is cool that you are still able to interact with them.
But when is Natalie going on this dance? I get so mixed up with dates.
So since I have left the house has it been easier to keep clean, or is it about the same?
But it is kind of fend for yourself when it comes to eating because you usually only have like an hour. So I have come to the liking of Bush's baked beans. Speaking of cooking last night we had an awesome dinner made for us. She made REAL lemonade, from fresh squeezed lemons; that was so good. And then she made some battered talapia and fried it, and then put some of that Franks hot sauce on it makes it quite delicious. And then she made grits oh man was that good to with about a cup of butter in it was good, and then either put sugar or salt on it. But for pretty much every breakfast I have oatmeal, either brown sugar or peaches and cream. And Elder Bradshaw likes to have cold cereal.
And with teaching it is becoming a little bit easier to open my mouth. And be able to say something. In the next couple of weeks we are going to have a few baptisms. Oh and for pictures it is going to take a little while because I am in the hood and it does not have a walmart to be able to make a cd, so yeah it might not be until I get moved out of this area. Sorry about that, I wish that I could get you some photos.
But I love you so much, and HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!
