Hello Sister Wood,
I am doing quite well here in the D. I am all right and have not been hurt so far (Knock on wood) And I take those Vitamins a couple times a week. And I still have a bottle and a half.
And yeah I am sure glad that i was able to send you an email last week. It is always good hear from home. And how is the Computer working out? Is it nice to be able to use around the house? When I get home I'm going to get a bigger and better one for school, but that is a ways away.
And that is awesome that Natalie was able to get a bed. Now i can have my bed back, or at least I think i will. How did she like getting the letter from me? Tell her that I love her and think about her.
And some cinnamon rolls would be nice, but soul food is some pretty dang good food too. And how is Melissa and Karsten doing? She must be doing good if she can put a bed together. And that is pretty funny about Kaleb saying Tyler, is he starting to be able to talk more and more to everyone? And hopefully he remembers me when I come home. I am doing great this week and now I'm going to type to dad. But always know that I love you so much and that I pray for you every night.

Dear Uncle Bob,
That is awesome that you were able to sit down with your companion and Jayne and have a meal with them. How long has it been since you have met with Both of them in the same room? I hope that I will be able to do that some day. So how long is Jayne's daughter been out on her mission?
Hopefully you are able to get mom's car out of the shop, because the truck does like to suck the juice. But it is a nice ride to get around in. Maybe I will be able to get around in the truck in my mission some day, that would be so awesome. I hope that you are doing great in your work and that you are able to be kept safe. How much longer is it that you can start to look around for driving fuel around? But I need to get going and know that I think of you and how you have been an example to me to go out on a mission. One thing I want you to study and is really awesome it D&C Section 93 it is one of the best sections ever. But I love you so much and hope that all is well back home.

Hello Mom and Dad,
It has been going good here in Detroit, two days ago it snow again leaving around 14 in of snow. just when you think that you have gotten through the snow it comes right back with a vengence. And sorry for not being able to email you yesterday but the library was closed. Sorry about that.
Elder Bradshaw is doing quite well with his cut lip, it is back to normal now.
That is good that Turner was able to get away from his mother, and that is really sad that he had to do that. But you have to do what you have to do.
But with Baptisms we are going to have one probably this weekend. He is 15 years old and is doing great at keeping the commitments.
Oh yeah I did get the package from Grandma and Brooke and from you. Those packages made my day last monday. And I am really greatfull for the pictures that Brooke sent me, I only had one little one of the family before she sent me those.
And I herd that Jerry Sloan had retired from the Jazz, the other day I said that he should do that. I guess that I am a fortune teller or something.

Dear Uncle Wood,
How is the life in Utah? That is good that you were able to bring out the snowblower, I like to blow snow from time to time. And that is pretty funny about not wanting to dig out your car from the snow. And talking about Chevy trucks I was able to ride around in the Missions Chevy Silverado. It is the same truck as yours but just a few years newer. But with riding through the snow it just sucks, because you can't really ride through it you just keep on slipping, but it is all in the experience. And that is good that you were able to talk with Therald, I am glad that you are able to stay close to home, rather than go all around the country. But I need to get going. And always know that I love you.

February 14, 2011 Happy Valentines Day
Hello Family, And Happy Valentines Day!!!! I love you Guys so much,
The other day I did get the package that you had sent me. Thank you so much for it!!! (The macadamia nut cookies were awesome) But the package was sitting at my door step when I got home the other night. It was a nice treat to have, and now it is pretty much gone, all but one chocolate chip cookie. I really don't know how the best way to send me packages, either send them to the mission office (It'll probably take a week or two to get the package) or just send it to my door step if it is a low cost item; just because it could get stolen.
I have been writing Grandpa and Grandma every week, I am sure that he is very excited when he recieves these emails. I am very happy to recieve emails from him!!! Who would of thought that I would be writing emails to my grandparents (I thought I would be writing regular letters to them). Also I have been writing Faye letters, pretty much every week.
So you pretty much still have the youngwomen calling of teaching how to decorate pastrys (Ha Ha Ha).
But that is cool that you are still able to interact with them.
But when is Natalie going on this dance? I get so mixed up with dates.
So since I have left the house has it been easier to keep clean, or is it about the same?
But it is kind of fend for yourself when it comes to eating because you usually only have like an hour. So I have come to the liking of Bush's baked beans. Speaking of cooking last night we had an awesome dinner made for us. She made REAL lemonade, from fresh squeezed lemons; that was so good. And then she made some battered talapia and fried it, and then put some of that Franks hot sauce on it makes it quite delicious. And then she made grits oh man was that good to with about a cup of butter in it was good, and then either put sugar or salt on it. But for pretty much every breakfast I have oatmeal, either brown sugar or peaches and cream. And Elder Bradshaw likes to have cold cereal.
And with teaching it is becoming a little bit easier to open my mouth. And be able to say something. In the next couple of weeks we are going to have a few baptisms. Oh and for pictures it is going to take a little while because I am in the hood and it does not have a walmart to be able to make a cd, so yeah it might not be until I get moved out of this area. Sorry about that, I wish that I could get you some photos.
But I love you so much, and HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!

It looks like you just sent me this email, like ten minutes ago. Arn't you at work? It is going good here in the D. It has snowed three times this past week, each time that it has snowed it has dropped like five to six inches. But yeah I am still riding a bike throught this snow, it can become a bit rediculous riding in the snow covered roads. Also the only kind of snow removal here in Detroit is cars going back and forth and compacting the snow, and sometimes you might have a salt truck come by and drop a few pebbles of salt.
Yeah I recieved your letter, and Natalie's. Oh and that memory card that you sent me, it came from my phone, and it won't fit into the adapter that I have for my camera. But thank you for the memory chip and the letter. I have not recieved that letter from grandma, so you might need to call up the mtc, or just have her write another letter. I don't know?
I thought that would happen with Kaleb being a little jelous of having to share the attention with someone new. But that is kind of weird that this one is alot smaller than Kaleb was.
You can probably see my appartment from google on the internet. Ask natalie how to do it but you can see it from street level. But it is in a appartment complex that has two buildings that is white in color. We live on the second floor and it is a good size for Elder Bradshaw and I. It has a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, frontroom, three closets, and it even has a couch. But we have to cook most of our meals, unlike in Utah where they get fed every meal pretty much. But at least every Sunday and another day we get fed by a member.
This past saturday we were tracting down this street named Robson and it was my time to talk and Tony asked us if we would like to come in, much to our dismay. As we were talking we asked him if we could give him a twenty min. lesson and he said no, but then he let us give him a ten minute lesson. And as we were talking to him we felt promted to ask him to baptism and he accepted the invitation. It was so awesome. And I think that we had this success from fasting and much prayer. This was my first time in my life to have fasted on a fast Sunday. And it was just awesome to have this experience.
But have a good day and week and know that I love all of you.

First official email from our "GREENIE 1/31/2011 in Detroit
Hello Mother it has been quite the week (officially it ihas been a week from today that I became a real missionary). The first day that I got out here I went on a little demo with some elders in some of the ruffest area in the D, but we were able to go and talk to Dontell and some others that live in the same house. Oh and one of those elders was Elder Bradshaw. But later that night all three of us that came out from the MTC went back to the mission house and had dinner, had family home evening, and were interviewed by President Holmes. That house is one nice house to live in for a few years. After that the three of us went to the AP's appartment and slept there. And then the next day we went to the church and found out who our new companions were going to be. As President Holmes and I were walking down the hall he asked me since I new Elder Bradshaw so well if it would cause and problems being his companion, but I said that it would not be a problem and I became his companion. One of the scarriest things that has happened is on Saturday we were teaching Dontell again and as we were teaching him and his (I don't know if they are married or not) she came and sat down on a recliner and a couple of minutes later she went into a siezure and (her baby was sitting in her car seat next to her) she face planted into her baby (a week old). But that was wierd to see that, you kind of tense up and you have to tell yourself keep calm. But the ambulance came quite quick (five min.) and they took her off the hospitol.
With the bike situation I am borrowing a bike and I think that I am going to be borrowing it for the rest of my mission. But I am being taken care of. And yes I did recieve my package with my helmet in it. And thank you for all of the treats in it they are a life saver. I recieved the Dear Elder letter but I have yet to recieve a letter from grandma. I hope that I get it and that it is not lost at the MTC, maybe you can have her send another letter to me.
And that is good about Suzanne and that it is going good. It is so cool to be able to give blessings. But keep me updated with how she is doing. And that is so cool that Jared and Kristi are going to have a baby. I think that I knew about Brickell having a baby in August. Man life is changing all around in the family. But I guess that is what happens when kids grow up and are married.
And the sheets that I have and the blanket are doing great, when I go to sleep at 10:30 and then wake up at 6:30 it feels like I just laid down an hour ago, but I am getting use to it. But I am staying warm and having a good nights rest.
I love you so much and thank you for being so supportive.

Hey right now I am doing my first set of laundry for the first time by myself. And that is so cool that Melissa is going to have the baby this week. I wrote a letter before I sent this email so it might say a couple of the same things. But life is great here at the MTC, they serve you all the food you can eat, I need to stop before I become fat. But everything else is quite exciting like my companion and I are went and taught a mock lesson to a lady that was born in Samoa and then moved to Hawaii. It was scarry at first but then my companion and I were able to teach here and she even committed to baptism. But for now i'll send you letters so I have more than 30 minutes to write and read. And thank you so much for the package. Oh and Angie Hancock sent me a letter to. And thank you for all that you do for me!!! This has been a big learning experience so far. I love you so much, and can't wait until I see you again.

Hey mom I have 10 more minutes before it is up so I will send you another email. But my companion is from Logan and his name is Elder Conrad Beach. But the food has been good and it ranges from burritos to turkey and potatos and everything in between. And my nerves about teaching have been calmed because I have had to rely on the spirit. But this Thursday we are going to teach a member and a investigator, she has some concerns about why we go to church for three hours, but everything else she has learned she has loved. But what is Grandparents Taylor's address? How is the life at home? How is Natalie doing without me? And how is Melissa doing? And how is Dad? And I hope that Ryan Downard is able to go out on a mission. I would hate to not be able to go and do this. And the letter that Angie said that she hopes that Haden will go on a mission. I think that it would be way good for Haden to go on a mission. Thank you so much for all that you have done for me to bring me to this point. Well my time is spent but I love you so much.
